Breakthrough Greater Boston prepares low-income students for success in college and trains the next generation of urban teachers by using a unique Students Teaching Students model. Through Breakthrough's six-year program, students gain a passion for learning and the perseverance to succeed. They emerge equipped with the tools to succeed in college and beyond.
Through six years of intensive, tuition-free, out of school time programming, Breakthrough changes students’ academic trajectories and supports them along the path to college. The Wagner Foundation is inspired by Breakthrough's remarkable accomplishments as it guides more students on the path to college and builds the next generation of teachers through competitive recruitment, research-based training, and coaching from master teachers. New models for learning and teaching are necessary to prepare both students and educators for the future.
