The Boston Foundation

As greater Boston’s community foundation since 1915, their mission is to build and sustain a vibrant and prosperous city where justice and opportunity are extended to everyone. The Foundation serves as a major civic leader by addressing the city and region’s most pressing challenges. It fulfills this role through data-driven research and published reports highlighting trends and issues that are critical to the health of our community; through deep policy work to shape and advance opportunity for all; and through major task forces and public forums that promote civil discourse among key stakeholders where ideas are shared, levers for change are identified and common agendas for the future are developed.

In addition to supporting national and international programs, the Wagner Foundation has a history of giving within its local community. The Boston Foundation's focus on community, its balancing of complex interests with common needs, is very much in the spirit of the Wagner Foundation's methodology for systemic support and change.

As Greater Boston’s community foundation, the Boston Foundation devotes its resources to building and sustaining a vital, prosperous city and region, where justice and opportunity are extended to everyone.
